Charles Newning’s Fairview Park neighborhood and the Travis Heights neighborhood contain most of the remaining historic residential structures in the Greater South River City planning area. Remaining historic homes include Victorian-era structures with gingerbread trim, Craftsman-influenced bungalows, and Prairie School influenced houses. Many houses have gabled or hipped roofs and deep porches. One of these houses is the W.D. Davis House. The project consisted of a south dormer to enlarge attic space for new bedrooms, addition of a new gable to the east for a Master Suite and a renovated kitchen.
