Music in Architecture – Architecture in Music Competition Winner

Responding to an international call for entries, Emily Little and C&L project manager Norma Yancey worked with local experimental percussion trio

Line Upon Line to submit a design for the Waller Creek bridge behind the UT Former Student center. As required, the design incorporated site considerations, architectural innovation and functionality as a musical instrument. Out of hundreds of entries, their design was selected as 1 of 8 to be constructed and have an original composition performed on it during the MIA-AIM Symposium in October 2011. After the performance in the symposium, their team was selected for a First Place prize among the 8 finalists. Congratulations!  Austin 360 Article
