Citizen Generation Charitybash Masquerade Ball – Snowflake Centerpiece

Alex Winkelman and EmilyAnne Skinner of Citizen Generation reached out to Clayton&Little Architects to create the centerpiece for their Charitybash

fundraiser, benefiting the Capital Area Food Bank.

They requested that the centerpiece form would be an interpretation of a snowflake, as the theme of the party was Winter Wonderland, and that the display be constructed out of cans that could be donated to the fundraiser beneficiary. This was a truly unique challenge and an opportunity for the ClaytonandLittle team to come together for a design/build adventure. A quick design charrette yielded the initial ideas and the design was fleshed out in 3D on the computer. Three weekend build days in January and a week of evenings prior to the event saw the project to fruition. Even though the project involved 1,095 cans and 1,667 lb of food, we are happy to report that the build, install and teardown went off without a hitch. The party was a great success, with more than 500 donors in attendance. Thanks to Citizen Generation for the opportunity and congratulations on a successful event!
